In 1923, Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntori, established Japan's first malt whisky distillery at Yamazaki on the periphery of Kyoto. For nearly a century, the House of Suntory has devoted its mastery and skill to the pursuit of the world's highest quality, pushing the boundaries of what Japanese whisky can be.

The Yamazaki distillery is nestled in the region that is home to Sen no Rikyu, Master of 'The Way of Tea', and famous for its pure waters.

Three rivers converge to provide a unique and misty climate, creating ideal conditions for cask ageing known as the signature 'Suntory Maturation' Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.

This masterpiece, artisanal blend of rare whiskies bottled in 2020 has aged over 55 years through Yamazaki's diverse seasons. Each matured, amber drop of Yamazaki 55 years old highlights the profound signature elegance of Yamazaki with a complex and mystical flavour profile.

Yamazaki 55 is the House of Suntory’s tribute to the passage of time.

''At the end of the day, you really can’t make a wrong choice.
As long as you pay attention to what it is that you don’t like about a wine
each bottle will get you closer to what you do like.
Take it one glass at a time!''
